The Walk I Almost Skipped
I nearly didn’t go…
One of my favourite things to do is spend time in nature.
A walk in the forest is my number one choice, very closely followed by the beach.
This morning, I woke up in a bit of a quandary. I’m away to focus deeply on work but I’m also staying very close to one of my favourite beaches, Castaways.
Last night, as I was speaking to my husband on the phone, he finished our conversation by saying, “You have to go for a walk on the beach in the morning.”
I woke up ready to get stuck into work, already thinking about the inconvenience of having to drive to the beach. But then I stopped in my tracks.
I remembered how much I love the beach.
How connected it makes me feel.
How energised I feel afterwards.
And most importantly - how I never regret going for a walk in nature.
That reminder was enough to get me over the line.
It was the right choice. Beautiful, sunny, and deeply refreshing.
